
Early Childhood
The Early Childhood Program serves over 600 children from birth to 5 years old. These programs provide diverse experiences and give young children and their families opportunities and tools for success now and in the future. The Early Childhood Programs are supported by federal, state and local sources.

Preschool Classes
Giving students an early start on success, more than 27 preschool classes are available for students eligible for Head Start, Colorado Preschool Program, Title 1 Preschool, and Early Childhood Special Education programs. Classes are held at the following locations:
- Barton Early Childhood Center
- Poudre Valley Mobile Home Park
- Fullana Learning Center
- 13 district elementary schools
- Colorado State University
- 11 private child care facilities
Eligibility requirements include income, special needs or educational delay. Screening for preschool classes and early intervention services occur throughout the year. Preschool applications are accepted beginning March 1 of each year. Information: (970) 490-3204.
Infants and Toddlers
Home-based services are available to families with infants and toddlers through the Early Head Start Program. Family Mentors assist parents in meeting their educational parental goals.
Infant/toddler services are available at the Fullana Learning Center for working parents or those enrolled in school.
Families in the Educational Process
Special programs include families in the educational process. Barton Early Childhood Center and Fullana Learning Center also provide play groups, wrap-around child care, family literacy workshops and technology mini-labs.
Some early childhood services at Fullana Learning Center are open to neighborhood families, based on space availability. The technology mini-lab is open to the community.
