You can VOLUNTEER at Blevins!

Parent volunteers are needed for a many activities at Blevins, and we welcome parents who are interested in volunteering any amount of time.  Please contact Tami Thomas (Blevins Volunteer Coordinator) if you are interested (tami-thomas@comcast.net,   226-3401).

All volunteers in Poudre School District must register; this is required to ensure the safety of all students and staff.  Registration is easy.

If you were a registered volunteer last year, please update your profile before volunteering this year.   Make sure your profile includes Blevins Junior High. Login:  Your email address.   Password:  1st initial of your first name, then last name, then the 4 digits of your birth year.  (ie.  tsmith1967)

Volunteer Opportunities

• Dances:  Nov. 7, Feb. 6, and April 10, 7-9 pm:  Chaperoning the dance and supervising gym activities. 
• PTO:  Parent Teacher Organization meetings are monthly on the first Tuesday of every month. 
• SIT:  Site Improvement Team meetings are held the first Wed of every month from 3-4 pm.
• Blevins Community Fair:  January 16, 2009:  Help with booths and other events at the PTO Fair.
• Refreshment Committee (Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Cookies…):  Help provide refreshments for various activities throughout the year.
• Lincoln Center Performances:  Chaperone Lincoln Center grade level performances.  (Dates TBD)
• Magazine Fundraiser:  begins Sept. 9, 2008:  Helpwith organizing and accounting for our annual Magazine Fundraiser.
• After School Tutoring:  Ongoing help with Homework Help.
• Vision and Hearing Screening:  Nov. 6, 2008:  Help with Vision and Hearing Screening; recording information and directing the flow of students.  
• CSAP Testing:  March 2008 (after Spring Break):  Assist with testing, supervision and incentives.
• Blevins Teacher of the Year Award:  Participate as a coordinator to assist in the nomination process of the Blevins Teacher of the Year Award.
• Support/Supervision at Musical Events:  Band, choir, orchestra or school musical support & supervision.
• Donations:  If you are very busy and cannot help in any other way, donations can be made of money, materials, prizes, time and expertise (talent or service you would be willing to share the school or PTO).
• Melanoma Walk/Run:  April 24, 2009:  Help with registration, serving food and assisting where needed.
