Blevins Junior High School General Information
Dear Blevins Community:
Welcome to Blevins Junior High, home of the Bruins and the staff and students who make teaching and learning fun! Each year brings high anticipation, multitudes of opportunities and challenges and yet the Blevins staff, students and parents express excitement at the prospect of a new school year. The Blevins staff prepares for learning opportunities full of high expectations and the anticipation of achievement by all of our students. Our school goals focus on student success in all academic and extra-curricular areas.
Blevins uses a modified block schedule, which allows for longer classes with more in-depth learning. Teachers have the opportunity to provide more hands-on class activities and have more time for lab activities with students. Our students also have more time to center their efforts on the class activities in a concentrated learning environment.
Students at Blevins are involved in a wide variety of activities available to them. These activities allow students to explore and expand upon the learning environment within the school. We compete at the regional and state level in Science Olympiad and Math Counts competition. Peer Mediators offer assistance in keeping the learning environment friendly! Our Student Leadership Team provides service work within the school and the larger Blevins communities.
